An early photograph of the DeLand Electric Power & Ice Company which was equipped with two 25kw generators and one 50kw generator. The power plant was located on North Spring Garden Avenue at the railroad tracks. DeLand was the first city in Florida to have electricity. The power plant, known as DELPICO, was built in 1887 and partly owned by John B. Stetson.
